In times, when most would seek refuge, the most unlikely among us become our heroes.  Five women find themselves in a life and death struggle against radical Islamists, who are bent on jihad to perfect a caliphate in the United States. Sharon Stokes, a retired police detective; Shirley Garrett, a retired judge; Karen Rogers, a retired doctor; and two housewives, Linda Smith and Barbara Greyburn, take risks so great that most brave men would falter. The weak and the unassuming, who live in the shadows, are capable of greatness and uncanny acts of courage; such are our heroines, the Potomac Book Club ladies.

Operation Gun Runner begins with the kidnapping of Shirley's beautiful, blond, and very young, rich niece. The Potomac Book Club, with Sharon at the lead, take on one of Mexico's most notorious Drug Cartels, and discover guns are being smuggled into the hands of killers with the assistance of the US Justice Department.

For decades the Chinese spy agency, the MSS, have sent operatives to the United States to steal intellectual property and military secrets.  They perform espionage in attempts to unseat the U.S. as the leading world power. The Potomac Book Club gets involved when Sharon's nephew, an MIT graduate, with an invention that would change world; a compact power generator that needs no fuel, is kidnapped and his invention stolen. Sharon and crew find themselves in the middle of a power struggle they could have never imagined.

The Potomac Book Club finds itself caught in a nefarious plot by the President of the United States of America and his circle of his closest allies to perpetrate a coup, seize power and therefore change the course of the US and the world. With unselfish courage and sacrifice, Sharon and her crew of patriots face their most difficult and dangerous challenge, pitting themselves against the most powerful man in the world. If they fail, the American experiment in freedom will be written in history books as a fleeting dream and a two hundred year old exercise in governance. The stakes could not be higher, failure is not an option. Is this story a plausible reality or a foolish fantasy? I'll let the reader decide, let the journey begin!
